Final Thoughts
After this semester, I definitely have a deeper appreciation for journalists and certainly have an interest in the field. I've always liked to write and so journalism was something I had considered even when I was young.
I did realize however that it was a lot more structured and a more in-depth process that I initially thought. With the practice, I feel more confident in it and it's something I can see myself doing. However, I don't think it would be something I could make into a long career because my heart is not really invested in doing so. If the opportunity arises to participate in journalism, I'd like to think that I'd go for it, but I wouldn't actively pursue that career.
Journalist are highly important to society because they do advance democracy with the spread of information through mass media. A public that is not well informed, cannot make the best decisions on how the country should be run.
